Reviews of the Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan Model
PICTURE
I’ve read a lot of reviews published on Lowe’s, and Amazon websites (major retailers of Harbor Breeze products). I found out there are three major issues that people are facing with this ceiling fan. These issues are:
- Remotes do not sync and operate correctly
- The light kit fails to work after a short time
- A humming sound comes when the fan is running
Not everyone faced all problems, but these were the common issues whenever there was a problem with the fan. Let’s discuss why a user can have any of these issues:
Noise comes when the fan is running
The most common issue people reported is a humming sound comes when the fan is spinning. If you can bear a small amount of noise then you can buy this fan. Mostly it is caused by motor vibrations amplified by parts of the fan. You should ensure the fittings including the mounts, housing, and blades are firmly attached. If the blades become loose, tighten the screws that are joining the arms and the blades. And you can install the balancing kit on the blades if they need to be rebalanced. If you want to know how you can install a balancing kit on the blades, click on this link: How To Add a Balancing Kit on Fan Blades?
Issues with the light kit
First of all, I would like to say that a light kit installed on a fan unit is not enough to provide a greater level of illumination. So, you must not expect a lot of illumination though. You may need to install a separate light source.
Let’s see what people have complained about the Mazon fan light kit:
Somebody said the LED bulb in this light kit has burned out. This fan has a light kit that has an integrated LED bulb which is supposed to last for decades. But it can burn out sooner sometimes due to several reasons for example short circuits. If this happens to someone, he is not supposed to replace the ceiling entirely. Instead, he can buy a replacement light kit which is not too expensive.
People also reported the light kit unit starts to flicker intermittently and it does go dim as specified. Some people said that the light kit turns on and off by itself.
These issues are not intense, one can simply resolve them by troubleshooting the issue. Also, Lowe’s customer support provides you with troubleshooting help. You can contact them for help.
Issues with remote
People faced two issues with the remote included with this fan. One problem was that the remote did not correctly sync with the ceiling fan. This happens when the person who is operating does not have the right understanding of how he is going to use the learn button to sync the fan with the remote.
The dip switches are not used in the latest fan models so you’re unable to use dip switches to sync both. Instead, Harbor Breeze has introduced a learn button in newer models, which lets you sync the fan and the remote. You can see the syncing method by reading my article: Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan Remote Troubleshooting; Reset & Resync
The other issue with the remote was it only works fine when held closer to the fan. This can happen when you have so many units installed in your home something tries to block the signals.
The interesting fact about the Mazon ceiling fan is that the Model 00728 is comparably more reliable than the Model MZ44ORB3LR so always check the Model number when purchasing. The looks of both models are the same but the remotes are way different and sync differently.
What do I think about the Harbor Breeze Mazon ceiling fan?
This fan is very easy to install and it comes with a manual that has clear installation instructions. So anyone can install it by himself if he is comfortable. One important thing is you must always assemble it correctly and check the connections before going ahead. If you assemble its parts correctly and install it with proper guidelines, then it will work well. It will operate quietly and provide you with an ample amount of air in your room.

Frequently Asked Questions
You can replace these fan parts on a Mazon ceiling fan: blades, blade arms, light kit, glass globe, remote control, and receiver. For more information, read out: Where to buy Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan Replacement Parts?
There can be two basic reasons why a fan makes excessive noise. These reasons are:
Either the blades come loose
Or the blades need to be rebalanced
Both of these issues can happen with any fan with usage. If the blades become loose, tighten the screws that are joining the blade arms and the blades.
While rebalancing can be done by adding a balancing kit to the blades. This kit weighs ½ gram apiece and costs only $5 to $10. To see how to add a balancing kit on the blades, read my article: How to Fix a Wobbly Harbor Breeze Ceiling Fan?
Once you’ve added a balancing kit, the noise will be reduced.
